WEEK 1: VEGAS KNIGHT HAWKS AT GREEN BAY BLIZZARD

On Monday, March 16 the Vegas Knight Hawks will travel to Green Bay, WI to play the Blizzard in the Indoor Football League Hall of Fame Game at Resch Arena. This will be a rematch of the 2025 IFL National Championship, a game Vegas won, 64-61. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT.

NOTES:

The Vegas Knight Hawks are returning six players from last year’s championship campaign: quarterback Jayden de Laura, wide receivers Quentin Randolph and Phoenix Sproles, offensive linemen Moses Mallory and Zach Fortier and defensive lineman Lorenzo Hernandez.

Jayden De Laura is coming into this season as the undisputed QB1 and the reigning IFL National Championship game MVP. Last Season in 16 games, he threw for 1,793 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also ran 317 yards and nine touchdowns. His top target last year, Quentin Randolph will likely remain his number one option in 2026. Randolph is the Knight Hawk’s franchise leader in almost every receiving category: receptions (220), receiving yards (3211), and touchdowns (69).

On defense, Lorenzo Hernandez, the current franchise leader in tackles-for-loss (25.5), is expected to have a heavy impact on the defensive front in 2026. Last season Hernandez totaled 43.5 tackles, four-and-a-half sacks, and two interceptions. He is the lone returning Knight Hawk on the defensive side of the ball.

Head Coach and General Manager Mike Davis got to work almost immediately after last year’s championship recruiting a new crop of talent to Vegas. This includes five players from the now dormant Bay Area Panthers: running back Joshua Tomas, offensive linemen Sidney Walker and Christian Coulter, and defensive linemen Billy Martin III and Daymond Williams.

Tomas is the reigning IFL Offensive Player of the year and earned All-IFL Second Team honors in 2025 as a kick-returner. Coulter and Walker anchored a Bay Area offensive line that supported the league's third-best rushing attack with 1,691 yards. Coulter was named to the All-IFL Rookie Team and All-IFL First Team offense in 2025.

Other notable newcomers include defensive back Clifton Duck. Playing for San Antonio in 2025, Duck was one of the Gunslingers most prolific defenders. He totaled 58.5 total tackles, three interceptions, six pass breakups and two forced fumbles. As well as kicker Gabe Rui, who has spent the last five seasons with the IFL's Iowa Barnstormers. He appeared in 71 games completing 73 of 167 field goals with a career long of 52 yards. He also completed 279 PATs.

 The coaching staff will now have a new look as well with former Assistant Head Coach Kyle Moore-Brown taking the helm with the New Mexico Chupacabras. Joining Coach Moore-Brown in New Mexico is former Defensive Line Coach Xavie Jackson. Mike Davis is entering his fifth season as the Head Coach for the Knight Hawks. He is joined by Offensive Coordinator Hurtis Chinn, QB Coach Mark Bly, and Linebacker Coach Rick Espejo. Rod Miller rejoins the Vegas staff as Defensive Coordinator along with Kenny Mack who will be the Offensive Line Coach.

OPPOSITION UPDATE:

The Green Bay Blizzard finished last season with a 10-6 record and an Eastern Conference title. However their MVP quarterback, Max Maylor is no longer under center, he is replaced by Demilon Brown.

The Blizzard will look to kicker Andrew Mevis and defensive lineman Allen Henry as two of their key returners from last season.

Green Bay signed a rookie wide receiver, Jack Studer, hoping to find success through the air in 2026.
