Opening Knight: Vegas Knight Hawks vs. Jacksonville Sharks

NOTES
Vegas quarterback Ja'Rome Johnson had as good a start to a season as any player could ask for in the Vegas season opener. Johnson had 295 all-purpose yards and six total touchdowns. This earned him IFL Offensive Player of the Week honors. He will be looking to have a repeat performance against a Sharks team that will try to bounce back after losing to Massachusetts last week.

Three of Johnson's touchdowns against Arizona were through the air to three different receivers. Quentin Randolph led all receivers with 90 yards on four catches, with his longest being a 36-yard touchdown catch in the back of the endzone. CJ Windham and Caleb Holley each had two receptions for 44 and 31 yards, respectively.

The Knight Hawks defense will look to set up shop once again in their opponents' backfield. Three different players recorded a sack against Arizona, with Maurice Jackson leading the way with 2.5 sacks. The VKH defense also recorded seven tackles-for-loss and forced the Rattlers to go 1-6 on 3rd down.

OPPOSITION UPDATE
The Jacksonville Sharks are 0-1 after losing to the Massachusetts Pirates by a score of 26-21 last week. This will be the Sharks second straight road game, meaning that the team will have traveled almost 3,000 miles (about the width of the United States) in two weeks.

A key player for Jacksonville is defensive back Harrison Poole. Poole led the team with nine tackles last week, including two of them for a loss. He also broke up two pass attempts. Even if Poole matches up against Vegas' top pass catcher, Johnson has still has a myriad of options to distribute the ball to.

Going under-center for the Sharks last week was Conor Blount. The Pirates defense got the better of Blount last week, throwing two picks, one touchdown, and getting sacked twice. Vegas' QB hungry defense will hope to have a feast once again against the Sharks offense.
