NOTES:
On Saturday, June 22 the Arizona Rattlers will travel to Henderson, Nevada to take on the Vegas Knight Hawks at Lee's Family Forum. Vegas snapped a three-game losing streak last week with a 53-39 victory over Duke City. Arizona holds an 8-4 record so far this season. After starting the year 1-3 , the Rattlers have gone 7-1 over their last eight games and head into Saturday are on a four-game win streak.
The Knight Hawks' defense stepped up in last week's contest with a three-sack and two-interception performance. Defensive backs
James Ceasar and
Darius Williams recorded the picks. Linebacker Makal Calhoun returned to his early-season form. He got to the QB twice and recorded seven and a half tackles, three of which were in the backfield. His performance earned him his second IFL Defensive Player of the Week award.
For the offense, it was the rushing attack that paved the way for the win. Quarterback
Ja'Rome Johnson got the start and capitalized with a four-score game, three of which were on the ground. Running back
Taurean Taylor netted two more rushing touchdowns and receiver
Caleb Holley also scored twice, one on the ground and one in the air.
OPPOSITION UPDATE:
Arizona will be coming into Henderson looking to avenge the defeat Vegas handed them in Week 2. The Rattlers' last matchup, a Week 14 contest against the Northern Arizona Wranglers, saw quarterback Dalton Sneed throw for almost 200-yards and seven touchdowns. Sneed sits at fourth in the league in passing touchdowns.
