NOTES:
This Saturday, the Knight Hawks will host their first playoff game in franchise history against the Arizona Rattlers. Following victories by both the Knight Hawks and the Rattlers, as well as a San Diego loss, Vegas secured the two-seed in these playoffs and Arizona the three-seed.
Vegas defeated the Tucson Sugar Skulls, 49-25, in their regular season finale on July 20.
Ja'Rome Johnson's performance earned him his fourth IFL Offensive Player of the Week award. He racked up five passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns and 231 total yards. Quinten Randolph and
CJ Windham each had two receiving touchdowns and
Trevon Van had one. Defensively
Maurice Jackson and
Malik Hausman each had an interception.
OPPOSITION UPDATE:
Arizona enters this matchup on a three-game winning streak. Their last loss came on June 22 against the Knight Hawks at Lee's Family Forum. Arizona quarterback Dalton Sneed finished the regular season sixth in passing yards with 1886 and fifth in passing touchdowns with 40. He accomplished this in only 12 games as he joined the Rattlers part-way into 2024.
The Rattlers defense ranks third overall stopping the pass but is fifteenth in stopping the run. In both prior matchups, Vegas was able to put up almost 300 yards of total offense.
