On Saturday, July 6 the Vegas Knight Hawks will make the trip down to Pechanga Arena to play the San Diego Strike Force. When these teams last met back on May 10, they combined for 20 total touchdowns. Vegas won the shootout 68-64.The Knight Hawks can clinch their first playoff berth this week with a win AND an Arizona loss OR Northern Arizona loss.
Last week, Vegas fell to Bay Area 37-35.
Quarterback
Ja'Rome Johnson had five total scores, with four passing touchdowns on 145 yards. Receivers
CJ Windham and
Justin Collins each had two receiving touchdowns. On the defense,
Bryce Hampton's eighth interception made him the outright league-leader in the stat. Defensive lineman
Lee Autry and
Rick D'Abreu each recorded a sack.
OPPOSITION UPDATE:
The San Diego Strike Force is led by quarterback Nate Davis. The 37-year-old is second in the league in both completions and passing yards. Of Davis' 2548 passing yards, 605 have gone to Arthur Jackson III. Jackson III is also the league leader in receiving touchdowns. The Strike Force Defense is ranked fourth in the league, only allowing an average of 43 points per game.
