After two scoreless drives, the Knight Hawks offense marched down field and capped off the drive with Johnson's twenty-eighth rushing touchdown of the year. Both teams then traded passing touchdowns. First, San Diego's Isaah Crocker scored. The following play saw
CJ Windham find the end zone. San Diego kept the pattern going with another passing score.
Kevin Macias ended the half at 38-34 with a 38-yard field goal.
San Diego started the second half with back-to-back drives ending in field goals followed by two more drives with passing touchdowns, giving them a 16-points lead. After 21 minutes of game time without a score, Vegas broke through with a Johnson touchdown to Randolph.
On San Diego's next drive, their field goal attempt was blocked by
Jerry Garner. Johnson then rushed for six-points and Windham converted the two-point try. The Strike Force answered with a long touchdown pass, pushing their lead back up to two-scores.
Following a drive with multiple lengthy reviews, San Diego scored with one-minute left. A missed PAT kept the Vegas deficit at seven-points. With 16-seconds left on the clock, Johnson ran in for his third rushing TD of the game. The subsequent two-point attempt failed.
Macias' attempt to score a deuce on the kickoff came up short and the final score in San Diego read 60-59.Vegas will have to wait another week to try and clinch a spot in the playoffs.
The Knight Hawks will return to home turf on July 20, where the team will celebrate Fan Appreciation Knight.
