WEEK 2, GAME 1: VEGAS KNIGHT HAWKS AT SAN DIEGO STRIKE FORCE

NOTES:
Vegas will kick off their fourth IFL season on the road in San Diego against the Strike Force. San Diego will be celebrating their first game in their new home: Frontwave Arena. Neither the Knight Hawks nor the Strike Force played in Week One.

Vegas will once again be led by Head Coach and General Manager Mike Davis. He is accompanied by Hurtis Chinn as Offensive Coordinator and Xzavie Jackson as Defensive Coordinator and D-Line Coach. Kyle Moore-Brown is returning as Assistant Head Coach and O-Line Coach. Rick Espejo and Mark Bly are back as Linebacker Coach and Quarterbacks Coach respectively.

The Knight Hawks are returning 15 players from last year's roster, eight on offense and 7 on defense. Leading the group of returning players is the reigning IFL MVP Ja'Rome Johnson. Joining Johnson will be All-IFL Selections on the O-Line, Moses Mallory, and Kevin Toote. The Vegas offense will also have several key weapons making a return including Quentin Randolph, CJ Windham, and Antonio Wimbush.

The Knight Hawks defense sees four D-Lineman coming back in Lee Autry, Claude Davis, Lorenzo Hernandez, and Maurice Jackson. All-IFL linebacker Makel Calhoun is back in Vegas along with James Ceasar and Darius Williams.

The Knight Hawks players have voted Davis, Williams, Randolph, and Wimbush to be captains for the 2025 season.

Last year, Vegas finished with a regular season record of 11-5 and second overall in the Western Conference. This was the best season in team history and gave the Knight Hawks their first playoff appearance. They fell to the eventual IFL Champion Arizona Rattlers in the first round.

OPPOSITION UPDATE:
San Diego ended 2024 with an 10-6 record and landing them at fourth in the West. Quarterback Nate Davis returns to the Strike Force. Davis was second in the IFL in 2024 in passing yards with 3146.

There will be some familiar faces on San Diego's roster as Jericho Flowers, Marquis Lawson, and Travon Van have all joined the Strike Force after being with Vegas in 2024.
