On Friday, April 11, the Vegas Knight Hawks play host to the San Diego Strike Force in their first home game of the season at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada. This will be the second of three matchups between the two teams this season. Vegas claimed the first meeting with a thrilling 48-41 comeback win in San Diego.
NOTES:
Vegas is coming off their single-game longest road trip of the season, a cross-country game in Jacksonville on Sunday, April 6 that ended in a 36-19 loss. The Knight Hawks offense struggled to find a rhythm, going 2-5 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down.
Despite the offensive woes, running back
Antonio Wimbush was a bright spot, punching in two short-yardage touchdowns. Wide receiver
Quentin Randolph added the team's only other score and finished the game with 53 receiving yards.
On defense, linemen
Claude Davis and
Lorenzo Hernandez delivered back-to-back sacks, while defensive back
Darius Williams led Vegas with a team-high eight tackles.
OPPOSITION UPDATE:
San Diego also enters this matchup following a loss, falling 41-18 to the Bay Area Panthers. The Strike Force scored the opening touchdown of the game, but this was their only lead of the game.
Despite the defeat, San Diego's defense showed some grit, pressuring the quarterback effectively and racking up four sacks on the night.
