On Saturday, May 17 the Vegas Knight Hawks will head to Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix, AZ to play the defending IFL champion Arizona Rattlers. This will be the first meeting between these teams in 2025. The Rattlers eliminated the Knight Hawks in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
NOTES:
Vegas is coming off of their third straight victory, a 55-27 win over San Antonio. Four different Knight Hawks found the endzone, including receiver
CJ Jefferson hauling in his first scoring catch of the year.
Antonio Wimbush and
Ja'Rome Johnson each scored four times. Wimbush logged four rushing touchdowns and Johnson earned two of his scores by air and two on the ground.
Defensive back
James Ceasar recorded two interceptions along with three and-a-half tackles.
Rome Weber also snagged his first interception as a Knight Hawk and returned it for 23-yards.
Darius Williams led the team with five and-a-half tackles.
OPPOSITION UPDATE:
The Arizona Rattlers are sitting in first place in the Western Conference with an overall record of 5-1 and a 4-1 record in-conference. Their lone defeat came two weeks ago against in-state rival Tucson. The Rattler offense is the best in the league averaging 51.2 points per game.
Arizona is led by quarterback Dalton Sneed. Sneed has 21 touchdown passes and 10 rushing touchdowns this season. The top target for Arizona is receiver Isaiah Houston, who has six TD catches through six games.
The Rattlers have the eighth-ranked defense, allowing 39.5 points per game. Defensive back Davontae Merriweather leads the team with 32 tackles.

Tickets are still available for Kid's Day on Saturday, May 31. Vegas will play their second game against the Rattlers. The first 1,500 fans ages 14 & under will receive a Knight Hawks youth football jersey. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT.
