WEEK 15, GAME 13: VEGAS KNIGHT HAWKS AT TUCSON SUGAR SKULLS

On Sunday June 29, the Vegas Knight Hawks will head south to take on the Tucson Sugar Skulls at Tucson Arena. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season. In 2024 these teams split their season series with the home team winning each contest.

NOTES:
The Vegas Knight Hawks are coming off their most impressive offensive showing in team history, racking up a franchise record 82 points on the Iowa Barnstormers. Running back Antonio Wimbush stood out on the score sheet as he found the endzone five times; he had two kick returns for touchdowns, two rushing scores, and one receiving score.

Wimbush was named the IFL's Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Defensively, James Ceasar led the team with seven and-a-half tackles and one interception. Lorenzo Hernandez and Cameron Bright combined for a sack and Claude Davis recorded a strip sack in the endzone, recovered by Adam Plant Jr. for a touchdown.

With four games remaining this season, Vegas' offense and defense both rank fourth in the IFL. The offense scores an average of 45.5 points per game while the defense allows 38.5 points per game.

 OPPOSITION UPDATE:
Tucson is coming into this contest on a two-game winning streak, including a triple-overtime thriller over the Arizona Rattlers. The Sugar Skulls are 5-6 overall in 2025 and are sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference.

Tucson is led by former Knight Hawk quarterback Jorge Reyna. Reyna ranks ninth in the IFL with 1088 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes. He is also the Sugar Skulls leading rusher with 248 yards and five touchdowns. Reyna joins kicker Kevin Macias and running back Devonte Sapp-Lynch as former Knight Hawks now playing in Tucson.
