WEEK 17, GAME 14: VEGAS KNIGHT HAWKS AT BAY AREA PANTHERS

On Friday, July 11 the Vegas Knight Hawks will hit the road for the final time in the 2025 regular season. Vegas will take on the first place Bay Area Panthers at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. With a Knight Hawks win and a Tucson loss on Saturday, Vegas will clinch their spot in the playoffs.

NOTES:

The Knight Hawks are coming off of their final bye-week of the season. Prior to the bye, Vegas won two straight games over Iowa and Tucson. The Vegas offense is ranked third in the league, led by running back Antonio Wimbush who has 678 total yards and 18 total touchdowns.

The Vegas defense ranks fifth overall and Darius Williams leads the way with 54 total tackles. James Ceasar is the team leader in interceptions and pass break-ups with four and seven, respectively.

The Knight Hawks are in third place in the Western Conference with a record of 8-5 overall, and 7-4 in the conference. With three games remaining in the season, any Vegas win or any loss by the Tucson Sugar Skulls down the stretch will clinch a playoff berth for Vegas.

 OPPOSITION UPDATE:

Bay Area is coming off of a loss on Monday night to San Diego. This is their third loss of the season, and they were on a six-game winning streak going into the game. Bay Area's offense is the fifth best in the league and they average 43.5 points per game. Quarterback Josh Jones leads the Panther offense with 2560 total yards and 47 touchdowns.

Defensively, Bay Area boasts the league's best defense; the Panthers only allow 33 points per game and have allowed the fewest points total with 436. Defensive back Tyrese Wright leads the team and is fifth in the league in total tackles with 67.5.

Bay Area, with a record of 10-3 overall, clinched a playoff spot two weeks ago, and they are now on the hunt to clinch home field advantage through the first two rounds. A Panther win plus a San Diego loss would do it this week.
