PLAYOFF BOUND: VEGAS DEFEATS NORTHERN ARIZONA 58-29

Box Score The Knight Hawks defeated the Northern Arizona Wranglers, 58-29, at Lee's Family forum on Saturday night. The team clinched a playoff berth with the win.

NOTES

Northern Arizona opened the scoring three minutes into the game with a short rushing touchdown, taking an early 7-0 lead.

Quentin Randolph answered the NAZ score on a pass from Jayden De Laura to tie the game at 7-7 halfway through the opening frame.

On the first play of the second quarter, Antonio Wimbush rushed in for his first of the game and gave Vegas a 14-7 lead.

The Wranglers gave the ball right back to Vegas when Elijah Blades picked off the Wranglers pass in the endzone.

Chizzi Umunakwe recorded a sack in the endzone and gave Vegas a two-point safety, raising their lead to 16-7. Shortly after, Randolph got his second catching score of the game, bumping the lead up to 23-7.

On the Wrangler's next possession, the ball popped loose at the goal line and Cameron Bright scooped the loose ball. Vegas failed to convert any points off the turnover in the final seconds of the half.

Vegas scored on back-to-back drives to open the second half, securing their lead even further, 37-7.

Vegas began to run away with the game as Bryce Hampton picked off the Wrangler pass and ran it back for six more points. The PAT gave Vegas a 44-7 lead.

Six minutes into the fourth, Northern Arizona scored their first points since the opening drive of the game, cutting the Vegas lead down to 44-15. Vegas answered immediately when James Ceasar returned the onside attempt for a touchdown.

The teams traded scoring drives in the final minutes of the game, raising the score up to 58-29 for the Knight Hawks.

Vegas kneeled out the rest of the clock, clinching their second straight playoff appearance.
 

NEXT TIME OUT

Next Saturday, the Knight Hawks will play their final game of the 2025 regular season against the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT.
